A series of ink making experiments using materials gathered from the grounds and surrounding areas of Hospitalfield, during an interdisciplinary residency in May 2021. The process of ink making became a way of exploring the entangled histories of place, plants and people, from the colonial origins of the Victorian fernery, to the Christian missionary sightings of Arbroath's red sandstone cliffs.
