A small-scale growing experiment at Schumacher College, Devon, to compare and contrast heritage & modern grains as well as a few other staples that form much of our diet. 

Inspired by the Oxford Real Farming Conference and the Heritage Grain Alliance to explore how we can bring genetic diversity and local shared ownership back to crops that are increasingly grown as monocultures. 

Crops grown included: population wheat (mix of 3 varieties), spelt, einkorn & durum wheat, naked oats, sweetcorn, popcorn, amaranth, quinoa, buckwheat, soy beans, chickpeas & lentils.
