lockdown weavings // UK, 2020-21

After migrating between Mexico and the UK, lockdown brought stillness and questions of how to find home. Looking to the birds for insight, I started making a series of nests with whatever I found nearby as I walked and talked, alone and with friends. At one point I found a discarded swallows nest and incorporated that into the final nest.

Después de migrar entre México y el Reino Unido, la cuarentena trajo quietud y preguntas sobre cómo encontrar un hogar. Mirando a los pájaros en busca de información, comencé a hacer una serie de nidos con lo que encontraba cerca mientras caminaba y hablaba, solo y con amigos. En un momento encontré un nido de golondrinas desechado y lo incorporé al nido final.
